Analyzing trends is critical for communication channels and measuring your brands success on all platforms.

A word cloud is a visual cluster display of words that grow in size based off the number of times each words is used from a body of text, image or website. This increases the importance of each word to help understand the bigger meaning and what is most prominent.

After reviewing Joe Biden's Inauguration speech I realized a word cloud would be a great tool to present before or after the speech to stimulate questions or answer what the main topics of the speech were on a larger scale.

The most common words used were "America, people, democracy, another and one".

These words are most common in government speeches and I expected these words to stand out after listening and reading the speech transcript. The most interesting words in the word cloud were that words such as God, virus and violence words were so small.

The words virus and violence played a huge role in this years election and it was surprising to see these words play a small role in the speech.

Open-ended data or even a long text such as a speech can be simplified and reveal essential words that you wouldn't necessarily pick up after a big piece of text. A word cloud offers a fast visual detailed aid that otherwise would take hours to analyze. This is an amazing tool for research for brands.
